We frequently experience problems with our mobile phones, including poor or unresponsive performance, erroneous pop-up notifications on the device, or text messages from strange numbers, especially when we use our phones for online activities because they may be vulnerable to hacking by cybercriminals.

According to Wikipedia, phone hacking is the activity of examining a mobile device’s whole architecture using computer exploits, from the lowest levels of memory and the central processing unit to the most complex file systems and processes. Despite the fact that IPhone does not reveal their source code to app developers and they do not alter the course code themselves, Androids function in a manner that makes them less secure than iPhones, according to Norton. Both products are still vulnerable to phone hacking, though.



How to identify a phone Hack:

1. Slow System Performance: If your apps operates slowly and unorderly, or it automatically stops itself, it could mean that your phone is being hacked



2. Random Pop Up Notification: If your mobile phone often automatically pops up random advertisements that prompts you to take an action and then redirects you. It could mean that your phone has been compromised.



3. Receive Texts or Calls from Unknown Number; receiving texts or calls from unknown numbers who turns out to be familiar people might not really be a problem, however, receiving texts and calls from unknown people and called to relay an alert and prompt you to take an urgent action, it could mean your mobile phone is experiencing a phone hack.



4. Battery Drainage; it is normal for the phone battery to run down as you use your phone, but, if you notice that your battery drains faster than it is meant to especially when you have not breally be using it, that your phone might be prone to a phone hack. Here are some ways to know the battery usage of your phone.



• On your phone, go to settings

• Search for battery

• Click on Battery

• You will see what consumes your battery, review each apps to see.



5. Install unrecognised apps; apps that you are not aware of unsure you installed could have been installed are called unrecognised apps and could be installed by hackers. These apps make your phone prone to phone hacks.



6. Strange activities on your social accounts; Every social activities that you see in your social account that is not attached to you is a strange activity that compromises your social accounts.
